Mao Daidouji

Mao Daidouji (大道寺真央, Daidōji Mao) is an imposing but timid player who was scouted from the judo team by Nene Mouri as well as the only person who can catch Ryo Hayakawa's pitches.

She is voiced by Kokoro Shindo (Japanese) and Shelley Calene-Black (English).

Etymology[]

The name Mao means "real, genuine" (真) (ma) and "center" (央) (o).
Mao's surname Daidouji means "road" (大道) (daidou) and "temple" (寺) (ji).

Playing on a team allows Mao to overcome her personal shyness.
